q&a
-how
can I become a member? GRID
membership and showcases are for Austin-based bands only who
are already actively gigging bands.
To become a member come to a showcase or to one of our member's shows
and talk to the artists. You can also email me.
-how
can members use the GRID logo? Members
can use our logo however they want for GRID for non-GRID shows at their
discretion, BUT we do ask that if not all acts are GRID
members that members indicate themselves as a GRID member by placing
AMG in small text somewhere by their act name. If you
don't want to use our logo but still want to refer to us, you can either
modify our logo or type our name or website in text.
-how
are artist payments handled for paid shows? When
we organize showcases there are no artist fees for the booking and promotion
we provide. When
income is received from a showcase all artists are always paid the profit
in even disbursement. The better
the showcase does the more money the performers get (please note this
is only applicable for paid showcases and is not applicable in the instance
of free showcases where the GRID and involved artists agree in advance
to donate their services to a venue or event organizer for free).
-what
are the GRID's expenses? GRID
expenses for a paid show can include some or all of the following depending
on the venue - advertising, promotions, sound and lighting reinforcement,
sound and lighting crew, and additional
entertainment such as dancers. For paid shows, artists are always disclosed
the information in advance what expenses the GRID expects to cover for
itself if any.
-can
I request a disclosure of the GRID's expense history? GRID
Members and interested parties are eligible to request a full disclosure
of the GRID's income and expense history at any time, which documents
the GRID's strict adherence to covering its overhead only.
